Senterra Funders seeks a Grant Evaluation Contractor to conduct high-quality grant evaluations and outcomes measurements for our bespoke philanthropic advising services to members and new movement funders.
Senterra Funders was founded in 2017 by a tight-knit group of foundations and high-net-worth individuals with the belief that we can end factory farming and build a plant-forward society faster together. Senterra includes 51 funders around the world. Its existing programs include monthly group calls, philanthropic advising, a pooled fund, funding circles, socials, newsletter, and an annual in-person retreat. Senterra is fiscally sponsored by the Humane America Animal Foundation and governed by a Steering Committee.
This is an independent contractor position with Humane America Animal Foundation on behalf of Senterra Funders. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment. The selected candidate will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement including confidentiality and intellectual property provisions.
The Grant Evaluation Contractor will advance Senterra's mission by providing support to ensure members receive exceptional philanthropic advising. We aim to counterfactually influence millions in philanthropic funding in 2026. The Grant Evaluation Contractor’s charity evaluations and recommendations will support our goal of increasing the effectiveness of existing movement funding and guiding effectiveness for incoming movement funders.
The Grant Evaluation Contractor role is currently scoped as a part-time contractor role, but has the potential to grow into full-time employment pending organizational needs and exceptional performance.
Independently evaluate charities and grant opportunities at the request of the Senior Director of Philanthropic Advising & Programs to assemble philanthropic portfolios for advisees and provide other general advising. This includes collecting information from organizations and related entities (such as partner organizations, existing donors, and/or other advisors), evaluating the charity both quantitatively and qualitatively against the specific donors’ criteria, and indicating specific organizational outcomes to track if the grant is successful. All final recommendations are reviewed by the Senior Director of Philanthropic Advising & Programs.
Monitor and organize incoming funding requests, so we can better match strong opportunities with the most relevant members with additional funding capacity.
Follow-up with grantees for outcome reporting to advise renewal recommendations.
Support other grant evaluation and outcome reporting projects, such as our semi-annual impact reports for our pooled fund, the Plant-Based EU Policy Fund.
Other tasks as assigned.
